LOTUS ORGANIZER 97 GS UPDATE FOR NOTES 4.6 (aus Notizbuch)

Welcome to the Lotus Organizer 97 GS Update for Notes 4.6. You
need the information in UPDATE.EXE if you use Organizer 97 GS PIM
with group scheduling and Notes 4.6 client software. You don’t
need the update if you’re using Organizer 97 GS PIM-only because
the update only affects files that are installed when you install
Organizer 97 GS with group scheduling capabilities.

These release notes contain important information about updating
Organizer 97 GS so that you can start Organizer 97 GS whether or
not you already started Notes 4.6. Without the update, you must
start Notes 4.6 before you start Organizer 97 GS; if you start
Organizer 97 GS without starting Notes 4.6 first, Notes will
shut down unexepectantly. This update fixes this problem.

After you run UPDATE.EXE, you can locate this README file,
UPDATE.TXT, in your Organizer program directory (for example,
C:LotusOrganize).

********************
What the update does
********************
When you run UPDATE.EXE, the setup program (SETUP.EXE) automatically
finds your Organizer program directory (for example,
C:LotusOrganize) and places new versions of the following three
files in that directory:

ORG32.EXE
TZBACK32.DLL
TZISO32.DLL

Setup also creates backup versions of the original files in the
Organizer program directory. The backup versions are named

BACKUP OF ORG32.EXE
BACKUP OF TZBACK32.DLL
BACKUP OF TZISO32.DLL

********************************************
Running UPDATE.EXE to update Organizer 97 GS
********************************************
In Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0
1. Exit Organizer, if it’s running on your computer.

2. From the Windows Taskbar, click Start.

3. Click Run.

4. Enter the appropriate path followed by UPDATE.EXE in the box.

For example, if you downloaded the file to C:TEMP, type

C:TEMPUPDATE.EXE

You can also click Browse to find UPDATE.EXE.

5. Click OK.

******************
Undoing the update
******************
You can undo the update by renaming the following files
that are located in the Organizer program directory
(for example, C:LotusOrganize):

Rename this file To this file name

LDAP Schema database – enhanced in Lotus Notes (Domino) R5.0.1 (aus Notizbuch)

Beginning in Release 5.0.1, you can use the command tell ldap exportschema to build/update the Domino LDAP Schema database (SCHEMA50.NSF) in the Domino data directory.

This database provides information about the directory schema in a user-friendly format and can reflect any changes you make if you extend the directory schema. If you extend the directory schema, use the command tell ldap reloadschema, which loads the updated schema into memory, before using tell ldap exportschema.
When the Designer task runs it also reloads the schema into memory and then creates or updates the Domino LDAP Schema database.
For each attribute in the schema, the Domino LDAP Schema database provides the LDAP name, OID, corresponding Domino field, LDAP schema the attribute originated from, and the syntax type.

Tip: To determine the form or forms which use an attribute, switch to the “LDAP ObjectClasses” view, do a full-text search on the attribute, then look at the “Notes Name” column in the view.
For each object class in the schema, the database provides the LDAP name, OID, Domino Directory form that corresponds to the object class, LDAP schema the object class originated from. The database also provides the object class type (abstract, structural, auxiliary), the relative superior and auxiliary object classes, and the associated mandatory and optional attributes.
For each syntax, the database provides the LDAP name (and alternate name), OID, the data type mapping in Notes, and the schema from which the syntax originated.
