Android 4.4: Problem mit Google Play

If I try to invoke “Google Play” on my Android 4.4 mobile phone, I get the error message “check connection and try again” (Verbindung prüfen und wiederholen).

I am connected to the Interhet via WiFi

The effect is, that I am now unable to use the Google Play Store.
