Computer: Viewing PDF in the WebBrowser

Today an old problem again occurred: My wiki website heavily uses hyperlinks on PDF documents. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 as well as Mozilla Firefox 2.0 came up with the error message File does not begin with “%PDF” and do not show the PDF document in the web browser window.
